NRL's position on the new team at the Ministry of Health. "We only agreed to participate in the team's work"

Let us recall: a regulation on the establishment of the Team for the Professional Liability of Physicians and Dentists was published in the official journal of the Minister of Health.

Its members included, among others, representatives of the Supreme Medical Council - president Łukasz Jankowski and vice-president Klaudiusz Komor .

However, the NRL issued an important announcement regarding the formation of the aforementioned team and the appointment of representatives of the medical self-government to its membership.

- We kindly inform you that at the stage of consultations with Minister Izabela Leszczyna, we were invited and only agreed to participate in the work of the team dealing with the introduction of the no-fault clause. In view of the above, we consider the name: "Team for Professional Liability of Physicians and Dentists" to be unfortunate and inadequate with the agreed assumptions regarding the work of the team - we read in the statement.

As they added, "matters related to the professional liability of doctors and dentists are dealt with exclusively by the relevant professional liability bodies of the medical self-government, and the appointment of any other team by the Ministry of Health devoted to this matter is not justified."

At the same time, they emphasize that they will contact the Ministry of Health "with a request to change both the name and the detailed scope of the team's work in order to return to the content agreed between the Supreme Medical Chamber and the Ministry of Health."

Izabela Leszczyna herself commented on the position, writing on platform X: "We will reach an agreement, we have a common goal: the safety of patients and doctors. We do not want safety medicine"
